Filipino-Chinese chamber backs move to lower rice import tariffs

The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) backs proposal to temporarily reduce the tarriff rates of imported rice to between zero and 10%.

In an interview, President Cecilio Pedro said, “The only way to encourage more imports is for tariff to come down so that it will be profitable for importers to sell at the price ceiling.”
